MONOTYPE and MORE

All-Levels

Instructor: Ron Pokrasso
Dates: Thursday October 3 - Saturday October 5, 10am-5pm, open studio Thursday and Saturday evening from 5-10pm
Cost: $375, does not include paper - Arches 88 will be available for purchase or participants may purchase their own paper

This three day workshop covers a wide range of techniques possible in the monotype process and continues through the use of collage, drawing, and multiple plate projects. Participants will be encouraged to pursue their artistic vision using monotype as a mark making tool in combination with whatever other techniques are efficient and available. The notion of the "artist as an inventor" will be stressed as mixed media techniques open the door to limitless opportunities. The approach is energetic and open, as each student's individual style will help to dictate the direction of the workshop.

Modifying, layering, mixing inks, finding color, use of mark-making tools, exploring the limits of paper, collage, chine colle and various printing techniques will all be addressed. Participants who have experience with other matrices such as Solarplate, ImageOn, traditional intaglio plates, etc will learn how to integrate these into the process. Working with drawing materials and finishing prints as resolved and complete expressions, are also aspects of the workshop.

Only 12 spots available! Sign up now!
